A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, by Kathleen Baty

A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, by Kathleen Baty

Kathleen Baty is/was a well-known TV-personality in the US. After being the victim of a stalker she started to explore the field of safety for women. Gradually she became known as "The safety chick".

This book: "A Girl's Gotta Do What a Girl's Gotta Do: The Ultimate Guide to Living Safe & Smart" is not a traditional self-defense book or manual as such. Rather it focuses on what women can and should do in order to secure themselves against different forms of dangers and harassments from other people. It answers how a woman can avoid being a victim to violent crimes.

The well-known security expert Gavin de Becker writes in the introduction: "Many women believe that violence is a mystery that can be understood only by men, but Kathleen Baty knows better. Throughout this book she shows that intuition is deep, brilliant and powerful."

In the book the author presents the reader to various topics such as safety on the Net, being safe while travelling, security when you're out on the town etc. She discusses violence in the home, how to deal with people who intrudes your privacy, harassments and much more.

This is a practical and easy to read book that I have no problem to recommend. There may be better books on the subject, but without a doubt also books that are far worse!
